Shana Montrose, MPH, MBA

Shana Montrose, MPH, MBA, based in Denver, CO, is a strategic planning consultant with 20 years of experience in healthcare, public health, government, and nonprofit sectors. Her career includes executive leadership and consulting roles focused on aligning strategy and operations to improve organizational performance. She has completed strategic planning projects for government agencies, nonprofits, and healthcare organizations, including providing strategic planning for public health and human services departments in California and Texas, government-funded nonprofits and federally funded clinics in Colorado, and for a publicly funded university. As a former Chief Administrative Officer of a Federally Qualified Health Center, Shana guided growth planning, strengthened internal operations, and built partnerships to expand services. She has also worked on the Strategy Execution Team of a multi-state integrated health system, where she led initiatives to improve prevention, safety, and patient outcomes in primary care and behavioral health. Leading these projects, she established internal governance, built consensus across departments, and managed complex implementation efforts. Shana holds an MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health, an MBA in Health Administration from the University of Colorado Denver, and an MA in Latin American Studies from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service. Shana is a certified Everything DiSC practitioner, has achieved “Gold” level certification of Lean Management Systems, and holds an active coaching certification from the International Coaching Federation. Her background includes volunteer work in health promotion in Mexico, human services in Costa Rica, and education initiatives in Brazil. In her free time, Shana enjoys dancing tango as well as hiking and camping in Colorado with her family.
