Your Partners for Sustainable Impact

Grant Writing and Application Development

Effective grant development can help local governments, nonprofits, and small businesses diversify funding, support operations, expand programs, and increase long-term sustainability. Grants are also effective tools for creating sustainable innovation, collaboration, and education, as well as community and stakeholder engagement. By setting goals, considering long-term plans for sustainability, and establishing a budget, timeline, and measurable outcomes, grants provide the necessary structure for both program and organizational development—serving as effective tools for leadership to steer organizational strategy. This process naturally brings about positive momentum for cultural change with the potential of generating a significant return on investment.

IFP’s team-based approach provides a strategic, structured, and targeted approach to grant writing. Our team works closely with your organization’s subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather the necessary information to develop a persuasive, compelling proposal aligned with the funder’s interests and mission. Grant development can be both complicated and stressful, but IFP’s team-based approach makes it simple. Our structured grant development process includes:

  • Coordination and facilitation of meetings, providing your organization with regular opportunities to provide feedback and input
  • Leading the drafting and editing of all required grant components/attachments, including multiple iterations
  • Incorporation of strong data points emphasizing need and S.M.A.R.T.E.R. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Timely, Evaluated, and Re-evaluated) goals and objectives
  • Leading and/or assisting with submission as desired, including setting up complex registrations and submission portals
  • Providing budget support and guidance, ensuring the eligibility of costs
  • Assisting with stakeholder engagement, drafting Letters of Support and Commitment as well as Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs)
  • A rigorous peer review process where our SMEs mock-score the application draft based on scoring criteria and provide actionable recommendations for improvement
