Edwin Barrera, Ed.D.

Edwin Barrera, Ed.D., based in San Benito, Texas, has 33 years of experience in writing, managing, designing, training, and evaluating grants in diverse areas, such as health, education, business, and labor. He believes the key to a grant’s success lies in the degree to which the grant is initially designed by stakeholders and managed with fidelity by its recipients. Edwin’s work has taken him across the country working primarily with highly impoverished geographical areas that require holistic aspects of grant support. His primary role has been to help the educational arena, working with colleges and school districts; in addition he has experience working with nonprofits in the areas of in health, labor, and criminal justice. Edwin has successful experience writing grants to the United States Education Department (ED), Health and Human Services Department (HHS), Department of Labor (DOL), and The Department of Justice (DOJ). Edwin holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and an M.ED in Counseling and Guidance. In his free time, Edwin enjoys watching movies, traveling, sports, and grandparenting!
